Color Palette
The client already had a logo created but did not have a defined color palette. Her foundation is based on her love of the Chakras concept from yoga, which I used for the hierarchy of the website. (see below)
ABOUT THE PROJECT
The client wanted a simple landing page website to be able to send prospective clients to. She practices yoga and and has studied the chakras. Each chakra has it’s own color and meaning.
THE CHALLENGE
The client really wanted to use these colors but also maintain a professional appearance that would still appeal to corporations, not overwhelm people who visit the site and also expressed who she is.
While I was aware of the chakras, I did some research to get more specific information on what each one meant. I also found an image to reference for colors.
THE SOLUTION
The simplest way to incorporate the colors was using borders. This would define key sections, use the colors and not overwhelm site visitors. I also wanted to respect the order of the chakras as they start from the head and work down to the root.
The menu is the topmost part and so that uses the color purple, which is the color of the crown or head chakra. The very bottom border of the site is red, which is the root chakra.
The buttons on the site are orange, the solar plexus chakra, which is translated as an action in the phrase “I do.” And action is what you want people to take on your site!
The testimonials are green as that is the heart chakra and tranlates as “I love.”
